Winter Cafe Homeless.

 $1.59

Snowflakes fall, winter's song

Wind howls, people pass along

The homeless gather, seeking heat

With frozen hands and tired feet

A small café, with warmth inside

Provides a place where they can hide

From the bitter cold of the street

Where they can rest their weary feet

banner

They come from all walks of life

Men and women, once with strife

But now they're all the same

Hoping for a chance to change

They huddle close, to share the heat

Their eyes fixed on their empty feet

With ragged clothes, and little food

Surviving, but in a somber mood

The café owner, with a kind heart

Offers them a meal, a fresh start

They sit and eat, grateful and warm

A moment to forget the storm

The city sleeps, as they stay awake

In the café, their spirits awake

Tales of old, and dreams to come

Stories of a life undone

With each other, they find strength

In the warmth, they forget the length

Of the night, and the cold outside

They are alive, with nothing to hide

As morning comes, they say goodbye

With a nod, a tear, and a sigh

They walk back, to their lonely life

But with hope, and without strife

$1.59, a price too small

For a moment, to forget it all

But for them, it's a world away

A place of hope, if just for a day.

Regenerate response
